Down's Syndrome Center

Down's Syndrome is the most common genetic cause of mental retardation and congenital malformations.  Early detection, management and treatment of the numerous complex medical and developmental problems can facilitate optimum development and function for the child.  The Down's Syndrome Center was created with the objective of providing early detection and multi-disciplinary treatment of the disease. 

Children affected with Down's Syndrome have many conditions which need to be managed medically.  They include:

  • Developmental delays
  • Gowth disturbances
  • Dental problems
  • Congenital heart disease
  • Opthalmic disorders
  • Gastrointestional problems
  • Sezures
  • Diabetes
  • Thyroid dysfunction
  • Hematologic abnormalities
  • Orthopaedic conditions
  • Psychiatric issues

The Down's Syndrome Center is able to provide all of these services within our own center.
