Hammerman Center for the Treatment of Neuromuscular Disorders
The
Center for the Treatment of Neuromuscular Disorders, which includes
the Center for Spasticity
and Arthrogryposis
Center, is the most complex and diverse of the Center for Children’s
four major clinical units. It is specially designed to address the
needs of children, adolescents and young adults with specific, lifelong
conditions or diseases, including:
- Cerebral Palsy
- Spina Bifida
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Arthrogryposis
- Spinal cord and brain injuries
- Spasticity
This component of the Center for Children reflects the principle
philosophy of the Center: Patient care services are facilitated
more effectively and efficiently through an interdisciplinary
team approach. Several physicians from different disciplines,
as well as therapists, examine and treat the child during each
visit. This leads to a better quality of care. Additionally, it
is more convenient for the child and caretaker to have all medical
care available in one physical location. |
